Oqaatsut is a typical Greenlandic settlement, housing just 40 citizens. Many of us have grown up in and around Ilulissat and Oqaatsut, while some of us still live in the settlement. I grew up in the old trading station manager’s house, which in recent years has been transformed into the Hotel Nordlys.

I love this place and have  a lot of great memories.  In Oqaatsut time stands still. Here you find peace and quietness  which are exactly what we need in this hectic world of ours.
